My recent career-shift to TOBIUS as Enterprise Architect for the PERFORM Team (Project & Portfolio Management) meant that I had to tune down my holiday ambitions, but still we had a really great time at our coastal studio in September 2010. Almost full-time at Sea with a regatta of the WSKLUM - during which we ruined an entire spinnaker sail - and skippering practice with the Flemish Sea Sailing School.
2nd week of August 2009 we plotted an Italian fun mix of sailing, sun, sightseeing, shopping and sheer slackening. Early morning Saturday 10th at 4 o'clock we finally embarked destination Lake Garda - Italy's largest lakes in the Alps measuring approximately 50 kilometres South-South-West to North-North-East - on eastern shores in the province of Veneto.
As a sequel to 2006, ST2W - our Euro/Chinese Community based in SinT STevens Woluwe - organised a great ski-trip to Ehrwald (Austria/Tirol) during 2008 once more. Skiing, sledging & eating are much more fun performing & experiencing then talking about, anyway I decided to publish a few photographic impressions of this year's edition.
With my daughter Nicole away for 2 months in Canada, and 2 weeks summer holiday dedicated to refurbish the entire 1st floor and part of the attic, my wife Shanshan and I decided to indulge ourselves in a 3-day trip to Rome, following the footsteps of Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck in a "Roman Holiday". Before I heard a lot of bad stories of the classic city - food no good, dirty, etc ... - in fact absolute rubbish, since it turned out to be still one of the great cities of all time.
